Wig Size & Measurement Guide

Finding the perfect fit is essential for comfort and confidence. Follow this step-by-step guide to accurately measure your head and select the right wig size.

What You Need

  • A flexible soft measuring tape (fabric, not metal)
  • A mirror
  • Hair clips or pins to keep your hair flat

Step-by-Step Head Measurement Instructions

  1. Prepare your hair: Lay your natural hair as flat as possible against your head. If you have thick or long hair, pin it down with clips.
  2. Measure #1 — Circumference (most important): Place the tape at your natural hairline at the front. Wrap it around your head, passing behind both ears and around the nape of your neck. Record this measurement in inches.
  3. Measure #2 — Front to back: Place the tape at your front hairline (center of forehead). Run it straight over the crown of your head to the nape of your neck. Record this measurement.
  4. Measure #3 — Ear to ear (across top): Place the tape at the top of one ear. Run it straight over the top of your head to the top of the other ear. Record this measurement.
  5. Measure #4 — Temple to temple: Place the tape at one temple and run it across your forehead to the other temple. Record this measurement.

Most Luvme Hair wigs are Average/Medium size (22–22.5″) with adjustable straps that can accommodate Small and Large head sizes as well.

Cap Construction Types

Adjustable Straps

All our wigs feature adjustable hook-and-eye straps at the back, allowing you to tighten or loosen the cap by approximately ½–1 inch in each direction. This makes one wig size fit a range of head measurements comfortably.

Interior Combs

Most wigs include 3–4 small interior combs (front, sides, back) that clip into your natural hair or wig grip to keep the wig in place during wear. No glue required for everyday use.

Elastic Band

Many of our glueless wigs feature an adjustable elastic band that sits around the perimeter of the cap for a snug, secure fit without adhesive.

Adjusting Your Wig

  • Too loose: Tighten the back straps. If still loose, add a wig grip band or apply a small amount of wig adhesive tape under the lace at the front.
  • Too tight: Loosen the back straps. If still uncomfortable, check that the wig is properly positioned — the ear tabs should sit just in front of your ears.
  • Slipping forward: Secure the front comb into your natural hair or use a wig grip. Make sure the back straps are tight enough.
  • Slipping backward: Tighten the front elastic. Apply a thin strip of wig adhesive or double-sided tape along the front hairline.

Tips for a Perfect Fit

  • Wear a wig cap/stocking underneath — it flattens your natural hair and provides a grippy base
  • A wig grip band adds extra security without any glue or tape
  • If between sizes, choose Average/Medium — the adjustable straps will accommodate you
  • For ponytail or updo styles, choose a 360 lace wig for the most flexible styling
